FRACTION FONTS have been available on CompuServe in various forums for almost two years now. Lots of folks have downloaded them. A few have even paid for them.
If you own a previous version, a little housecleaning might be in order before using the fonts in FF-WM1.SEA. (That's an acronym for Fraction Fonts - Macintosh Type 1). Here's why:
FRACTION FONTS went through five revisions in the period from January, 1991 to March, 1992. These were numbered internally as v.1.0 to v.1.05. Each was twiddled and tweaked and sometimes renamed. Now the fonts are mature. (Or, I have finally settled on some standards.)
At any rate, the fonts in FF-MT1.SEA are version 2.0. They are less than half the size (disk and memory-wise) of v.1.n FRACTION FONTS. And, they're considerably refined as far as kerning and hinting are concerned. In a nutshell, they're better.
If you have any version older than the fonts in FF-MT1.SEA, trash them. That means removing the bitmap suitcases from your System as well. When you're through cleaning up, install these fonts.
I'll continue to revise and refine FRACTION FONTS. I'm already generating v.2.1. However, I'm through making any changes to the naming conventions. This means that I promise housecleaning will require little more than a quick dusting when installing future upgrades.
